Human Rights

Picture

Human Rights Education; NMIT VCAL & Melbourne City Library Projection Space 2009

Students from NMIT VCAL chose to learn about Human Rights for which I designed a series of media based projects. Each project concentrated on a specific article from the Declaration of Human Rights.

The outcome was a public presentation and display about their ideas and knowledge regarding Human Rights and to raise awareness about the importance and relevance of Human Rights in Melbourne.

The media created was also projected onto the Melbourne City Library Projection space.

ABOVE: Moving Message: example of a stop-still animation using cutout letters to describe the experience of torture. Article 5 - Freedom from Torture and Degrading Treatment.

BELOW: Words Can't Describe: Comparative text expressing a day in the life of a child slave and a day in the life of the student 'Meg'. Article 4 Freedom from Slavery.
