’You Started It’ - Disability Photography Arts project - Wimmera Uniting Care 2010
‘The Awakenings' Festival is an initiative of Wimmera Uniting Care and is Australia’s only regional disability festival. It is a unique community celebration of ability held every October in Horsham.
'You Started It' involved working alongside participants from St Arnaud, Ararat and Stawell. A range of photo-based projects were created based on themes common to us all. The work culminated in a book that was exhibited along with the photo art produced during the workshops in a relational lounge space set-up for the Awakenings Festival in Horsham.
ABOVE: Photo Re-enactment. The drawing is a picture inspired by treasured items, people and travel experiences. The next group re-created this drawing as a photograph. Inspired by the artist Yeondoo Jung.
