Aboriginal Cultural Awareness

Picture
'THE LAND' Aboriginal Cultural Awareness; NMIT VCAL & Darebin City Council 2010

This project was designed to look at the differences and similarities we are all challenged with as subjects from a variety of cultural backgrounds. The ideas and concepts raised were then discussed in comparison to Indigenous Australian cultures.

The project culminated into a animated shadow projection piece about the importance of THE LAND and was displayed on the outside wall of the Northcote Town Hall as part of the City of Darebin’s ProjectarT project.

ABOVE: A series of shadow positions were created as still images then superimposed onto an outback landscape.

BELOW: Excerpt from the final projected shadow animation.
